KendriyaVidyalaya, karwar was established in 2005 under the patronage of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan, New Delhi an autonomous body under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. School has very good infrastructure with modern amenities. All the classrooms are spacious and it has a spacious hall, for yoga,AV Room, Laboratory, Library, Art Room, etc. ATL is going to start shortly .building wassorounded by mountains one side Arabian sea another side.The four fold Principles for all round development of the children has been the first and the fore most objective of the KendriyaVidyalaya, naval base ,karwar. There are nearly 1144 students (as on 03.10.2019) on roll in classes I to XII. It has three section sections in class I to X and two streams in classes XI & XII i.e. Science (Medical & Commerce .The students are wards of personnel working in naval base, State Govt and others .it has been giving immaculate service to the society through quality results and programmes that enhance the all-round development of the students. In the intervening years she has emerged out as a premier institution in the district with her functioning and ideology .

ACADEMICS:

This institution has been carving a niche of her own by giving quality result in both Home and Board Examinations and had given cent percent result in Board and in Home Examination. PISA Test are conducted to prepare students’for the world..

SPORTS:

Our vidyalaya has been organizing galore of activities and providing umpteen opportunities for students in different fields. .

EXHIBITIONS & OLYMPIAD:

KVS organizes Myriad activities and competitions to enable the students to excel in the area of their interest.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES::

All the students of vidyalaya are divided into four houses, SHIVAJI, TAGORE, ASHOKA and RAMAN. Inter House competitions were held for both individual and Groupwise . These competitions are being held to encourage students and to bring out their latent talents.
A class wise assembly programme is organized to remove inhibitions and stage fear among them and give each student an opportunity to perform with grit and confidence.
Clubs: All the students of Secondary and Senor Secondary are divided into 6 clubs- Science, Maths, Eco, Integrity, Readers and AEP to ensure all-round development of students and to sensitize them towards nature, values, good habits and healthy living.
KVS believes in nurturing young minds towards excellence in academics, basic human goodness and responsibility towards society and nation, hence all the important days, celebrations and weeks like vigilance awareness week, wild life week, library week are observed to give enough exposure to students to know the importance and the need of its observation or celebration.

NON-KVS COMPETITIONS:

Our students have been doing exceptionally well in various competitions, held by other institutions other than KVS. No opportunity is denied to the students where they can show-case their talents.

NCC/SCOUTS & GUIDES:

Our school hasNCC enrolment of 105 with 50 junior division boys.25 junior wing girls.
It is proud to inform that we have a large contingency of scouts, guides, cubs and bulbuls. They are given training for various tests and camps and also act as volunteers during all the programmes organized in the vidyalaya

PROGRAMMES FOR THE HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENTS:

The vidyalaya teems with activities to accomplish one of the aims of KVS i.e to cater to the holistic development of each individual child.
Guidance and counseling sessions are held to remove learning and personal obstacles in all the students.
Adolescent Education Programme is introduced by KVS to groom the students into responsible citizens with hygiene and good health, also to abstain themselves from vices .
Moral education is imparted to revive the values and to introduce them to ethos of Indian culture and her richness. Teacher talk is organized to promote values among students and instill in them virtues that help in their better living.
A regular medical- checkup is held in the vidyalaya twice in a year to monitor the healthy development of the students. A provision for nurse and MI room with basic medical aid is made available in the vidyalaya to attend to the health problems of the students.with rich ambiance, conducive learning setup and with competent teaching faculty will carry on the mission of KVS in true letter and spirit.
